With some hands-on help and practical ideas from our program and evaluation consultants (who happen to have designed and run a beautiful handmade soap (and more) business in Tucson, AZ), we’re upgrading and reorganizing the look of the market. Prettier looks (especially with our visiting colleague and grants management specialist Juan Pesquiera standing behind the crates), uniform pricing, and a more organized set up.
On market days, we’re offering frozen water bottles and lemonade for sale, and adding a fan with a block of ice in front — improvised A/C for hot summer days in the Delta.
The team was visiting to check in on outcomes so far from the most recent round of mini-grants under Delta FarmStart, which is funded by USDA‘s Beginning Farmer & Rancher Development Program.
