Madison Shannon Palmer High School Library
1315 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Marks, MS
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer. Join us to discuss civil rights then and now, with Dr. Lackey, author of Marks, Martin and the Mule Train (XLibris), a history of the origin of the 1968 Poor People’s Campaign and the demonstration starting in Marks, MS, and Mr. Feinstein, author of Fire in the Bayou (Foxhead Books), a memoir of his early career as a civil rights prosecutor in the 1970s. We’ll swap histories, read excerpts, maybe share some music, and discuss the movement today.
Free and open to the public. Everyone welcome. Join us.
